Dr. Vikram Bhatia, DMD
As a Georgia native, Druid Hills High School graduate and Medical College of GA Alum, Dr. Vik is proud to serve the Brookhaven community and surrounding areas. After attending MCG, where he received his Doctorate in Dental Medicine (DMD), he had the unique opportunity to work with dental cosmetic specialists throughout the city, while acquiring additional experience in general dentistry through his work with a large group practice here in Georgia. With these skills he is able to bring artistry and excellence to his everyday work. He enjoys being a general/family dentist, and creating relationships with his patients that will last for generations. Dr. Vik invites patients of all ages to join his practice.
With the goal of offering first class patient centered dental care, Dr. Vik continues to travel throughout the country, staying abreast of new dental technology and cutting edge innovations for patients. Pain management and painless dentistry are his primary practice goals.
Dr.Bhatia is focused on his patient’s well being and has taken important steps to ensure their safety. By implementing digital x-rays, he hopes to reduce radiation for his patients, and no longer require the use of chemicals. His dental office also uses special amalgam traps in the office to prevent the mercury in the old silver fillings removed from going into the environment.
In his personal life, he is very family oriented and enjoys spending time with his wife, Dr. Tasneem Bhatia (Dr. Taz) and their two children Rania and Kabir. He is passionate about serving others as a healer and lives up to the true meaning of a Doctor.

Dr. Jeffrey Chen, DMD
Dr. Chen strives to provide the best treatment for his patients while being gentle, patient and detail oriented. He understands that many people are nervous and anxious about going to see the dentist. This is why he provides for every patient a comfortable and relaxed experience. His career goal is to gain trust and confidence through clinical excellence and following the “Golden Rule” by treating others as he would want to be treated. Dr. Chen is a native of Marietta, GA. After graduating from McEachern High School, he attended Emory University and received his Bachelors of Science in Biology. He received his dental degree from the Medical College of Georgia in Augusta. After graduation, He went to practice in rural South Georgia where he has been helping the underserved community. Throughout his career, Dr. Chen has practiced all aspects of dentistry. His biggest passion is utilizing the CEREC technology, which allows for same day treatment of crowns, veneers, and onlays. He understands that it can be hard to make time to see the dentist, and tries his hardest to be efficient and serve your needs as quickly as possible.
Dr. Chen is married to his childhood sweetheart, Jane, and has twin Maltese-poodle dogs. He enjoys spending time with his family and friends, watching movies, running, NBA basketball, and travelling.
Dr. Craig Foster Smith, DDS
After graduation from Emory University School of Dentistry in 1970, Dr. Smith served two years in the Air Force at Chanute Air Force Base, outside of Chicago, Illinois. In the summer of 1972, he opened his own private practice on Rosewell Road in the Buckhead area, which expanded and continued until the spring of 2004. For eight years thereafter, he served in corporate dentistry. Since November of 2013 he has been associated with the Atlanta Center for Restorative Dentistry in Sandy Spring.
With broad experience in all phases of restorative dentistry, Dr. Smith is excited to be the primary doctor opening the new (office for) Buckhead Dentistry. Since dentistry is primarily a relationship based practice, Dr. Smith is pleased to be able to continue to see his long standing patients of 40 years in addition to welcoming all new patients.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Smith is an accomplished keyboard musician and has served as organist for St. James United Methodist Church for over 25 years.
Dr. Sunny Patel, DDS
Dr. Sunny Patel was born and raised in Jacksonville, FL and attended the University of Florida for his Bachelors in Biology. He attended the University of Florida College of Dentistry as well, and moved to Atlanta after completing his doctorate.
Dr. Patel completed extensive post doc training in comprehensive dentistry with an emphasis on implants and cosmetic dentistry. Dr. Patel believes in continuing education and evidence-based dentistry to provide predictable and reliable treatment for his patients. He works very hard with to reduce anxiety for his patients and build a comfortable experience for everyone.
Dr. Patel and his wife Amisha moved to Atlanta from Florida. They love to travel and enjoy the outdoors. He grew up playing tennis, golf, and soccer. Dr. Patel still plays in ALTA leagues and local tournaments.
Ivy Edwards, RDH
Ivy Edwards was born in Macon, GA many years ago. In 1994 he was going to Georgia State wanting to become a teacher. Then he went to the career center and saw allied health (nursing, nutrition and dental hygiene). Within months Ivy was working for a friend who was a dentist. Within a year, he had transferred to Dekalb College (now Perimeter) and applied to the dental hygiene program. He finished the program, received his degree and passed the boards in 1997. Ivy never seriously considered any other type of work. He loves that Brookhaven Dental Associates’ office is modern and that the team gets along so well. He also loves living within 6 miles of the office and the weekly office outing. His favorite pastimes are walking, running, rock climbing, and light weight lifting. His favorite place is a rock that juts into the lake at Stone Mountain where he quiets his mind and thank God for life’s blessing. Ivy also loves bowling and golf (golf so he can be outside and only if no one keeps score).
Melissa “Mo” Broton, RDH
Originally from Lake Zurich, IL, Mo moved to Atlanta two and a half years ago. Mo has been working in the dental field 5+ years, including her training at Southern Illinois University, Carbondale where she completed her Bachelors of Science degree in the spring of 2012 and then received her dental hygiene license in July, 2012.
One of Mo’s favorite things to do is visit with her parents, who have retired to Key Largo, FL and meet up with her two siblings and grandmother for some Florida sun basking and family fun! With her outgoing personality, she’s also happy visiting one of the local malls or the gym with her friends when in Atlanta on weekends.
Kinsey Little, RDH
Bonnie Caldwell-Carter, Finance Manager
Bonnie, a Georgia native, has lived most of her life in Decatur. We are pleased to have Bonnie join our team with her 14+ years of experience as an office manager of several group dental practices in Cobb County. Bonnie brings with her the knowledge and connections to assist Brookhaven Dental Associates in securing several financing options for our patients as well as working with local corporations to negotiate group fees.
Bonnie is as busy outside the office as in. Bonnie and her husband Brian love to go camping, white water rafting and escaping to the beach as often as possible. They have 3 children and 3 active grandchildren: Alexis, 16, plays softball for a traveling team as well plays on her high school varsity team; her brother Christian, 8, also plays baseball and Peyton, 6 takes gymnastics and keeps everyone on the go. If there’s a game or an event, you know Bonnie and Brian are there!
Carol Clifton, Office Manager
Carol joined our practice as the office manager two years ago, offering a smile and well wishes to everyone as they enter our office! Carol is a native of Minneapolis and graduate of University of Minnesota. She moved to Atlanta 15 years ago after visiting some friends to attend an Atlanta Falcon’s game and loved the warmer climate! You can still find Carol attending as many Falcon’s games as she can – in the off season you’ll find her at the gym when not enjoying a night with friends or family.
In Minneapolis, Carol worked as an administrative director for a marketing firm where she ultimately became the project manager of business development. Once in Atlanta, she became interested in the healthcare industry and had an opportunity to join and work for a large dental group nine years prior to joining our team. Upon arrival to our office, you will find Carol’s talents have carried over into overseeing all aspects of keeping the office organized and welcoming, leading a team that is educated and knowledgeable to help you answer any questions you may have regarding your care and your family’s dental needs.
Caroline Kokas, General Manager
Caroline joins our team with her background and education in healthcare administration and 20 years of experience in both medical and dental arenas. She brings with her the knowledge of all facets of dental office operations working in the roles of dental assistant, oral surgery assistant, and dental office manager. Caroline most recently worked as a district manager for a large dental corporation for 13 years and will be a great reference for our team as we grow.
In her spare time, Caroline enjoys time with her family and friends, hiking with her foxhound or horseback riding on the Kennesaw Mountain trails if not DIY’ing around the house…unless there’s a chance to head to the beach or travelling!
Candis Fonooni, RDH
Originally from Savannah, GA Candis has lived in the Buckhead/Midtown area of Atlanta since 2005. With over 5 years of clinical hygiene experience, Candis joined Brookhaven Dental Associates in 2013 after graduating with her Bachelors of Science in Dental Hygiene from Clayton State University. Candis received her license in 2015 and is a registered dental hygienist in the state of GA.
Candis has a passion for dentistry and loves engaging each patient’s individual needs. She prides herself in making a connection with each patient and provides the utmost care for each person while keeping their comfort a priority. My goal is to help each patient reach their full potential with their dental health. Candis is happily married to her husband Damon and enjoys spending time with her Border Collie Luna. She loves to travel and enjoys hiking mountain trails and spending time outdoors.
Karen McEntyre, DA
Karen McEntyre is our clinical director. She is an Expanded Functions Register Dental Assistant with a career that spans more than 30 years. She has diverse experience that includes general dentistry, periodontics, oral surgery, and teaching. Karen is passionate about dentistry and feels a happy patient is the highest compliment.
Karen and her husband Craig have 2 daughters and 2 grandchildren. In addition to spending time with family, Karen enjoys watching college football, scuba diving, cooking, and anything Disney.
Beatriz Romero, DA
Beatriz was born in Mexico and raised in Atlanta, GA. She graduated from the Atlanta Dental Assistant school as a certified Dental Assistant in April, 2016. Ms. Romero’s favorite aspect of dentistry is experiencing and seeing the results of dentistry after a patient has completed treatment. In her spare time, Beatriz enjoys spending time with her daughter, Jayleen, as well as family and friends.
Melissa Cleary, DA
Melissa is a Georgia native and has over 20 years of experience in dentistry. She has held clinical and management positions in prosthodontics, cosmetics, oral maxillofacial surgery, endodontics, and more. We enjoy Melissa’s attention to detail and genuine compassion for each patient that she sees. Due to her extensive background in the dental field, she is able to assist patients with all phases of treatment. This includes financial inquiries and clinical concerns. Melissa is currently studying to become a nurse anesthetist at Georgia State University. She has a son at the University of Arkansas. A current resident of Alpharetta, Melissa enjoys spending time with her goldendoodle, Ziggy as well as her friends and family.
Christine Lovett, DA
Christine Lovett has been a part of Brookhaven Dental Associates since 2016. She exemplifies the work ethic that is set at Brookhaven Dental Associates, and has been working in the capacity of Dental Assistant expanded functions since 2004.
Her career path through the company has been recognized by staff at all levels, who admire her work ethic and dedication to Brookhaven Dental Associates.
Miriam Quinones, DA
Miriam is originally from Los Angeles, CA, but has been living in Georgia now for the past ten years (time surely flies by when you are having fun)! She has a daughter named Candy Lolita who is now age 14. For the past 17 years Miriam has been a Dental Assistant, and she truly loves the dental field. In her free time, Miriam enjoys fishing, kayaking, walking, dancing, and any thing else requiring movement.
Monique Harris, Front Desk
Monique is originally a native of Dayton, Ohio, and has been a Georgia resident for 6yrs. As a 2012 EFDA graduate of Newbridge College in San Diego, Monique has been dedicated to exhibiting her passion for dentistry in multiple areas. She began as a Chairside Assistant, later becoming a Treatment Coordinator and now serves as Brookhaven’s Insurance Coordinator. As our newest member, Monique is looking forward to a long-lasting and fulfilling career at Brookhaven Dental Associates.
